Nonemployee Compensation form. Issued to independent contractors paid $2,000 or more starting with 2026 payments (up from $600; inflation-adjusted starting 2027). No taxes are withheld — the contractor is responsible for reporting the income and paying self-employment tax. Replaced 1099-MISC for nonemployee compensation starting in 2020.
